Phishing Attempt Hits S&T Email

A Phishing email was circulated on the Missouri S&T Campus on Friday May 6, 2016.  The email subject line contained “Information Technology” and the body of the email contained “The MST university database information technology system has detected some suspicious activities on your MST University email account.”.  Do not click on the link.  Please delete the email as this phishing attempt has been report to IT Security.

All students, faculty, and staff are reminded to exercise a healthy skepticism when receiving suspicious emails and follow the proper process to report spam and phishing attempts:

IT thanks the many S&T students, faculty, and staff who properly reported the phishing attack and did not click the link or enter their information.
