Core Firewall

Status: Active

1/25/2017 9:58pm   – The vendor has identified some issues that were causing the persistent high CPU utilization. That has been corrected. Technicians will continue to monitor and we have corrective measures if the same issue arises tomorrow.

1/25/2017 7:20am   – This morning technicians discovered a hardware failure on the Columbia campus core firewall. This has been creating a variability in traffic response performance since Saturday. It was identified this morning that last night the routing processor pegged at 100% and was becoming somewhat non-responsive. To avoid the potential global impact the partial fail over that automatically occurred on Saturday was manually completed at 7:16am. There was some impact until 7:18am, when operation appears to have returned to normal.
