The SecureAuth password tool will be decommissioned on June 30th, 2021. Many applications have already been migrated to Microsoft Azure Authentication, however now all the remaining applications that are using SecureAuth for authentication will be transferred to Microsoft Azure Authentication by June 29th, 2021.
This update will mainly impact new students/employees as they get set up. However, we wanted to share some information about the changes that can help guide you to new links and processes.
Starting June 30th
- New employees and incoming students no longer need to go through New User Setup. They can now go to https://password.umsystem.edu/reset to set up their initial password. This link can also be used for changing their password as well. This link directs to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/ and Microsoft will authenticate the users now.
- The existing URLs will also be redirected to the Microsoft Password Reset tool:
- Updating or adding authentication methods can be done at https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info or https://password.umsystem.edu via Manage MFA Settings tile.
- If your number is incorrect in MFA, you will need to contact the Help Desk for assistance in updating the number.
